Meet Edward Hughes

We are very pleased to announce that Edward Hughes has accepted the invitation to become our new Music Director. He will begin officially after Easter, although will occasionally dep for some unaccounted Sundays before then.

Edward is Founder-Conductor of the Godwine Choir, a semi-professional choir based in Borough, London which sings in regular services in London and in concerts in Queens’ College Cambridge, Buckfast Abbey and Brussels Cathedral. He acts as repetiteur for the choir, including accompanying the choir in services. The choir has been featured by the Financial Times, toured in the UK and Europe, and recorded a disc on the EM Records label. Repertoire highlights: Justorum Animae (Jackson), Miserere (Allegri), O’ve Lass (Lauridsen), Draw on Sweet Night (Wilbye).

Edward is a new resident to Hornsey and lives just a few minutes away. We are looking forward to working with him immensely and know that he will quickly become a much loved member of our community.

Huge thanks to everyone involved in the recruitment process to find a worthy successor to Louisa.
